Holly Michelle Bishop

Holly Michelle Bishop, 51, of Keithville, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on August 20, 1972, in Shreveport to Phillip Miles Lane and Mary Virginia Lane.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Rev. Willis Martin. Interment will follow in Keithville Cemetery, Keithville, Louisiana. Honoring Holly as pallbearers will be Don Baker, Ryan Bicknell, Scott Bicknell, Micah Goodwin, Brad Goodwin, and Lane Bishop.

Holly was a graduate of Southwood High School and Northwestern State University. She was dedicated to her work at the Willis Knighton Orthopaedic Clinic, Dr. Milan Mody, and all her office family. She was selfless, easy-going, and always content, but she suffered no fools. She loved helping people and she loved animals of all kinds, especially rescue dogs. She loved Starbucks and Netflix binges. Holly’s favorite thing was spending time with her family, and her children Lane and Haley were her pride and joy.

Holly was a beautiful soul who was dearly loved by her family. She exemplified 1 Corinthians 13: 4-6: “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” Holly was all these things and so much more.

Holly was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Virginia Lane. Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 30 years, Jerry Bishop; son, Lane Bishop; daughter, Haley Bishop; father, Phillip Miles Lane; sister, Laura Baxter and husband Ron; brothers, Greg Lane and wife Jennifer, and Scott Lane and wife Rebecca; nieces Sara Lane, Annabell Lane, and Emma Lane; and nephews Brad Goodwin, Micah Goodwin, Jacob Lane and Cooper Lane.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
