Hosea Austin Lewing

Hosea Austin Lewing, age 78, of Keithville, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on July 26, 2024. He was born on July 2, 1946, in Hempstead, Texas to Harvey Ballard Lewing and Emily Juanita Brown.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the funeral home. Officiating will be Bro. Rodger Morton.

Honoring Hosea as pallbearers will be Nick Burchell, Kyle Bruner, Aaron Teer, Cory Teer, Maddie Burchell, Austin Ashby, Mike Ashby, and Brandon Ashby.

Hosea graduated from Woodlawn High School and worked for Southland Printing for over 45 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, family, and God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Emily Lewing, and his first wife, Linda Faye Hutchison. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Frances Kaye Lewing; children, Joseph Strickland and wife, Angela, Cynthia Procell and husband, Dennis, Emily Teer and husband, Jeff, Kim Burchell and husband, Tracy, David Ashby, and Rhonda Ashby; along with 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Moss and staff and Dr. Koticha and staff at Christus Highland Hospital for their care, love, and support provided to Mr. Lewing.
