It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Howard B. Bailey Jr., 67, a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many, who left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone who knew him.
Howard was born on May 10, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Howard B. Bailey, Sr. and Betty Bailey in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 in Mansfield, Louisiana.
Howard spent his life pursuing his passions and leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his community. He was the proud owner of the family business, Interstate Wholesale Furniture, for over 40+ years. Howard was a loving husband to Ginger Bailey for 30 years, and together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and joy. He was a devoted father to Trip and Courtney, and his pride in their accomplishments knew no bounds. He was a loving brother to Sandra, grandchildren, Blake, Luke, Elliece, Hadley and Parker and great-grandson, Caspian, were the lights of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Howard attended Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church. He was an integral part of the local community. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He was the longest standing member of the Cancoon Hunting Club for 35 years. His favorite places were either sitting on the Arkla Pipeline waiting for a big buck or on his porch listening to his playlist, drinking a glass of wine and watching the sun set over Toledo Bend. His infectious smile, kind heart, and generous spirit touched countless lives throughout his journey. Howard's presence lit up any room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on friends, neighbors, and acquaintances alike.
Howard is survived by his wife, Ginger Bailey; children, Trip Bailey and Courtney Norton; grandchildren, Blake Bailey, Luke Bailey, Elliece Bailey, Hadley Norton and Parker Norton; great-grandchild, Caspian Bailey; sibling, Sandra Bailey; grandnephews, Cole and Cullen Black, and a multitude of friends and loved ones who will deeply miss him.
