Howard "Asa" Curtis

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services honoring Mr. Howard "Asa" Curtis, will be held at Brookwood Baptist Church on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow at Forest Park West. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp. Visitation with the family will be held at the Brookwood Baptist Church on Saturday July 9, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Asa was born on May 26, 1923 to Leo and Emma Sandel Curtis in Hornbeck, LA. He passed away July 5, 2016, in Shreveport, at the age of 93. He was a dedicated member of Brookwood Baptist Church where he taught the Men's Bible Class for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charlie, Emil, Hoy, and Ray; granddaughter Misty Curtis. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lois Patton Curtis; sons Larry M. Curtis and wife Janet, Randell H. Curtis and wife Lib, Philip A. Curtis and wife Sheila; grandchildren, Kristi Bush, Sonya Galloway, Ashley Curtis, Haley Smith, Craig Howell, Mandy Grimmett; sister Clarice Moul and husband Gail; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or Shreveport- Bossier Rescue Mission.
