Howard Ratliff

A funeral service for Howard Ratliff, 74, will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Ratliff will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. from Friday, June 23, 2023 until time of service. Officiating the service will be Dr. Pastor Theron Jackson.

Howard Ratliff came into this world March 14, 1949 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Jarit Dixon Ratliff and Annie Jackson Ratliff and passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

He was raised in Powhatan, Louisiana, eventually moved to Natchitoches. Howard was a faithful member of his church where he was the principal financier, chairman of the deacon board, and was known for hosting college students and visiting ministers. He was a devoted employee of Kansas City Southern for 33 years before retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Ratliff; Charles Ratliff and Ira James Ratliff. He is survived by his brother, Odell Ratliff and wife, Catherine; sisters, Shirley Ratliff, Yvonne Ratliff, Linda Ratliff, Jewell Ratliff and Judy Estes. Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Kenya Turner, Alisha Ratliff and Candice Ratliff; grandson, Nicholas James Alexander Ratliff.
