Howard Monroe Sandifer

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Howard Monroe Sandifer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Bro. Buddy Hankins of Southside Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9th at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Howard was born October 13, 1935 in Mansfield, LA to James and Maggie Sandifer, and passed away on March 6, 2017. Howard was a painter and remodeler for most of his life. He loved to work in his yard and enjoyed his vegetable gardens and his rose bushes. Howard loved his family and adored his wife, Mary, for 39 years. He had many, many stories he loved to share about his life and family. Howard was preceded in death by his father, James M. Sandifer; his mother, Maggie Ola Spears Sandifer; brothers, A.V. Sandifer, T.V. Pearson, and James Sandifer; and sisters, Marie McPhearson and Odessa Hinks. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Elizabeth Corpier Sandifer; step-son, Darrell Barbo and wife, Kathy; sons, Howard L. Sandifer and wife, Jeannie, Michael Dewayne Sandifer and wife, Rhonda, and James William Sandifer; daughters, Patricia Diane Norwood and husband, Jimmy, Rhonda Moore, Dovie Stahl, and Patricia Diane Windham; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
