Walker will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Heflin, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be Dr. Rick Wolfe. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Howard was born March 5, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered into rest January 6, 2017 in Minden, Louisiana. He was a veteran and served his country in the United States Army. Howard loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Christia Walker of Dubberly, son Dwayne Howard Walker and wife Suzanne of Dubberly, daughters Cheryl Tangocci of Vancouver, Washington, Catharine Walker Poole and husband Russell of Minden, sisters Lavenia Pace of Minden, Pearl Merritt of Shreveport, brother David Walker and wife Shelia of Dubberly, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
