A memorial service for Hubert Ray Causey, 87, will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Chapel, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. An inurnment will be held at a later date. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Mitchell.
Hubert also lovingly known as “Pops” or “Pop-Pop,” was born on November 16, 1936, and passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and faith. A proud veteran, Hubert served in the United States Navy, where he was stationed on the USS Essex Aircraft Carrier before being honorably discharged in1956.
After his education at Fair Park High School, from which he graduated in 1954, Hubert embarked on a lifelong journey in the automotive industry, ultimately becoming the owner of Ray's Paint and Body Shop. His commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect of his work; he was known for his neatness and meticulous attention to detail, reflecting his personality as a neat freak. Despite his stern demeanor, those close to him knew him as a loving individual, dedicated to the well-being of his family.
Throughout his life, Hubert enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including riding bulls earlier in his youth and later embracing the thrill of motorcycle riding. His adventurous spirit was matched by a profound love for his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
A devout Christian, Hubert's faith was an integral part of his daily life, guiding him through both challenges and triumphs. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments in his career and personal life but also for the love he shared with those around him.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Causey and Vena Causey; brother, Jackie Leslie Causey; sister, Jeanette Gipson, and son, Shane Willis. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dian Causey; daughters, Leah Willis, Brandy Mitchell and husband, David; son, Dip Causey and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Jaycee Miller and husband, Peyton, Sydney Mitchell, Shane Mitchell, Riley Sue Causey, and Tuff Causey; great-grandson, Michael Blieux Miller who is due in March of 2025; brother, Tony Causey and wife, Melanie; brother-in-law, Carlos Gipson and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Serving Hubert as honorary pallbearers will be Todd Corley, Ricky Williams, Scott English, Jeremy Hammontree, and Justin “Jughead” Hammontree.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Willis Knighton Pierremont Emergency Department, Dr. Yandle, the ICU staff as well as the step-down unit staff for their care and compassion.
