Hughie Byford

Hughie Lee Byford was born on September 27, 1937, in Center, Texas, and entered rest on April 1, 2024, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

His 66-year marriage to his devoted wife, Tommye Byford, was blessed with five children: Charlie Byford (Sandra), Cindy Burr, Kim Scobee (Rod), Kevin Byford (Renea), and Keith Byford (Melanie). His legacy continues through his grandchildren Bubba, Heath, Kasee, Nikki, Justin, Kallie, Cade, and Allison, and great-grandchildren Mallorie, Mason, Victoria, Daulton, Kynleigh, Kynnedi, Jacob, and Aly-Kate. Also surviving him are siblings David Byford, Pat Evans, and Debbie Sitton.

Preceding Hughie in death are his parents Lafayette "Fate" Byford and Cecil Stephens Byford, granddaughter Ashley Byford, and siblings Barbara, Carol, Harold, Nancy, and Larry.

Pallbearers will be Charles "Bubba" Byford, Jr., Mason Byford, Dalton Beaver, Zachary Cade Lynch, Zach Darner, and Solon "Man" Nussman. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Barbo and Heath Byford.

Hughie was a man of many talents and skills, which he used to provide for his family over a life spanning 86 rewarding years. His life will be celebrated on Friday, April 5th, at 1 pm at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Bro. Brad Darner will officiate the service, with interment to follow at Cassel Cemetery, Converse, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4th, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home from 5 pm until 7 pm.
