Hylton Warren Hanson, Sr.

Hylton Warren Hanson, Sr., 83, of Shreveport, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on April 21, 2024. He was born on September 20, 1940 in Shreveport to Fred Warren Hanson and Loma Ruth Rice.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Graveside services honoring the life of Hylton will be held at 2:00 p.m. after the visitation at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, in Bossier City. Officiating the service will be Dr. B.J. "Rocky" Maddox.

Hylton graduated from Fair Park High School in 1958. After high school he graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science; majoring in Industrial Arts. He worked at Western Electric and AT&T for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and completing puzzles. He loved going to church and doing things with his church family.

Hylton was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Warren Hanson and Loma Ruth Rice; sister, Glenna Ruth; and son, Hylton Warren Hanson, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Debra Burdine; son-in-law, Jayme Burdine; grandkids, Heather, Courtney, Chuck, Morgan, and Brooke; 13 great-grandchildren; along with special friend and companion, Alice Kay.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Hylton’s memory.
