SHREVEPORT, LA - Frances Dumas, 87, went to be with her Lord on June 21, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Ray Boswell will officiate.
Frances was born April 20, 1928 in Monroe, LA to James Vernan Dumas and Clyde Arrington Dumas. She was preceded in death by her parents; cousin, BeBe Winslet and special friend, Norma Jean Brown. Left to cherish her memory is her Aunt and namesake Frances Adams, of Milton Freewater, OR; special friend and caregiver Linda Price and husband, Chip of Shreveport, LA.
Frances worked as an insurance salesperson for over 40 years. She was a lifelong member of Highland/First Baptist Church of Shreveport, LA. Frances was a gentle, kind, loving woman who loved God with all of her heart. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
The family would to thank Montclair Assisted living, The Circle of Life Hospice and to all the God-sent sitters who took such good care of Frances for the last few weeks.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 543 Ockley Drive, Shreveport, LA. 71106, or to a charity of donor's choice.
