Ida Bernice Ferguson

Funeral services for Ida Bernice Giles Ferguson, 79, will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Rev. Dr. Freddy Williford officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Ida was born May 6, 1938 in Plain Dealing, LA to Rufus and Ruby Giles and passed away on September 29, 2017 in Shreveport. She was a retired waitress and member of Ford Park Baptist Church. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Ruby E. Giles; grandparents; siblings, Rufus Arthur, Melvin, Melba, and Marie Giles, Thelma Womack, Sally Vance, Olean Williams, and Lilly R. Best; and three other siblings; and grandson, Choya Secdell Bearden, II (Trea). Left to cherish her memory are husband of 43 years, James A. Ferguson; children, Barbara J. Aegerter Bearden, Wanda S. Moore (Bobby), Jerald Wallace Jr. (Yang), Carolyn Gohring (Ed), Debbie Forbis (David), and Donna Williams; grandchildren, Mandy R. Lennon, Kevin M. Pickering, Jamie Michael Wallace, Jamie Ruth Wallace, Jason B. Wallace, and Sara Warren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Ferguson, David Ferguson, Hunter Wallace, Jamie Wallace, Jimmy Williams, Jr., and Joseph Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Ferguson, Bobby Moore, and Philip Lennon.
