Jack I. Yost was called home to meet his heavenly Father on Father\'s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was born in Lodi, Ohio on October 24,1939 to Irwin Clyde and Viola Mae Yost. He spent the first 50 years living, working, and coaching in Ohio and then moved to Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dallas Yost and sister in-law, Elaine Yost. Jack leaves behind his wife, Barbara Essary of Shreveport, LA; brother, Harold Yost of Lutz, Florida; three children, Cindy Amburgy and husband, John, of Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, Greg Yost and wife, Carol, of Medina, Ohio and Cathy Miner and husband, Tony, of Van Buren, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, John, Scott and Brian Mohr, Parish and Baylor Yost, Rachel, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Matthew, Anna and Levi Miner and three great grandchildren, Sydney, Lily and Bexley.
He was a father, bother, son, grandpa, teacher, mentor, salesman, coach, and friend. An Ohio kid who became a proper Southern Gentleman! He loved people and enjoyed telling stories about everyone in his life to anyone that would listen, especially his grandchildren. Education and family were very important to him.
He was an avid sportsman who loved to win whether it was a golf match, catching the biggest fish, a card game or betting horse races or football games. ·
