Jacqueline (Jackie) McCrary

Services for Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Watson McCrary will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Arcadia, with burial to follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Jackie was born July 13, 1934, in the Hurricane community to Clinton and Ruth Strong Watson. She entered into rest peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Ruston, Louisiana with her loving family and friends by her side.

Jackie moved with her family to Arcadia in 1944 at the age of 10. She joined First Baptist Church the same year. Jackie graduated from Louisiana Tech with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Although she never taught, Jackie did work for Louisiana Power and Light until she and her husband, Curtis McCrary, Jr. opened Nob Hill in Arcadia in 1974. Jackie and Curtis ran Nob Hill together for 20 plus years. She was a very faithful member of First Baptist of Arcadia, and a member of the Joy Club. Jackie was a huge Lady Techsters fan and enjoyed going to games with friends. Jackie will be missed greatly by all those that knew her.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Ruth Watson, husband Curtis McCrary, Jr., daughter Gloria Dawn McCrary, and brother Clinton Watson, Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Ted McCrary, sister-in-law Donna McCrary, brother-in-law Phillip McCrary and wife Sue, by several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.

The family would like to thank the Arbor and Terrace of Ruston for their loving care of Mrs. Jackie.
