KEATCHIE, LA - Services will be held at the Keatchie Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, with Reverend Beth Sentell officiating. Burial will be at Keatchie Cemetery followed by a celebration of life for James Robert "JR" Adams, Jr. at his home in Keatchie. JR was born in Birmingham, AL on April 27, 1955, to Anne Blaylock and James Robert \"Bob\" Adams, Sr. He passed away May 26, 2017, at age 62, from complications associated with Alzheimer\'s Disease. He was surrounded by love from his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Dolph Lea, and brother-in-law, Hines \"Chip\" Rogers.
JR grew up in Shreveport, LA and then Keatchie, LA, with his siblings Jeff (Linda) of Keatchie, LA, Don (Temora) of Great Barrington, MA, Charlie (Susan) of Keatchie, LA and Julie Adams Rogers of Keatchie, LA. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School, Class of 1973 and achieved his Eagle Scout Award. He received his B.S. degree in Agricultural Business from LSU in Baton Rouge, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. JR was an avid deer and duck hunter and was a founding member of Can Coon Hunting Club. He loved the country life and fishing at his family ponds, Dauphin Island, Toledo Bend, and Calcasieu Lake.
In 1980, he married his college sweetheart, Carol Lea Adams of Shreveport, LA. They had two wonderful children, James Robert Adams III (Crystal) of Spring, TX and Lillie Elizabeth Adams Wiley (Seth) of Frierson, LA. He loved being \"Jar-Jar\" to his grandchildren; Briley and Baylon Adams, and Jameson and Garrison Wiley.
JR was the co-owner of Adams Superior Services, LLC; an oil and gas cathodic protection company. He enjoyed raising beef cattle and various backyard poultry on his farm in Keatchie.
The thoughts and prayers from his family and friends were greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving and compassionate care received from Marguerite Lanius and St. Joseph\'s Hospice. A final blessing was given by Father Benjamin Santana.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews: Brian Murray; Austin, Taylor, and Wilson Adams; Logan and Andrew Adams; Carson Rogers and Ryland Kinmon.
