Memorial services for James Patrick Burns III, 54, will be held at 6 p.m. on February 2, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Page, Chaplain at The Bloom Senior Living. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.
James was born on April 15, 1963 to Dixie McCoy Burns and John Garrett Burns Sr. in Shreveport, LA and went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 28, 2018. He graduated from Southwood High School in 1982 and retired later on. His favorite pass times were watching Nascar Racing and Saints Football. James was a member of St. John's Cathedral.
James was preceded in death by his father; brother, John Garrett Burns Jr.; paternal grandparents, James Patrick Burns Sr. and Mary Teresa Burns; maternal grandparents, Dixie Autumn McCoy, Roy Clevis McCoy Jr. and Nora McCoy. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 16 years, Brenda L. Burns; his mother, Dixie M. Burns; sisters, Teresa Autumn Page and husband Royce; Elizabeth Michelle Percival; nieces, Christin Compton and husband Ricky, Crystal Toothman and husband Chris, Kimberly Busi, Amberly Winham and husband Andy, Emily Percival; nephews, John Garrett Burns III and wife Dawn, and Lucas Cotton Burns; great-nieces, Tereasa Claire Compton and Isabella Busi; great nephews, John Garrett Burns IV, Brayden Toothman, Hudson Toothman, Rickey Compton, Herbert Busi and Skylar Percival; uncles, Michael McCoy and Clevis McCoy and his aunt Marlene Burns.
