James Conrad Dempsey, 82, was born September 26, 1932 in Rochelle, Louisiana to Thomas and Ollie Dempsey. He passed away peacefully December 5, 2014 in Shreveport surrounded by his family. He served in the U.S. National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard and was a Vietnam Veteran with the U.S. Air Force. After his military service he joined the Shreveport Fire Department and retired after 23 years of service. James was a member of the Fire Fighters Association and American Legion.
James is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bickham Dempsey; sons, Glenn Dempsey and his wife, Stephanie, Terry Dempsey and his wife, Betty, Denny Dempsey and his wife, Pam; daughter, Vicki Tallant and her husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Patrick, Grace and Stone Dempsey, Tyler Dempsey and his wife, Allison, Jacob Dempsey, Allie Keith and her husband, Troy, Jim Parker and his wife, Stacey, Charlene Dempsey, Sandra Roberts and her husband, Ryan; and six great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Northwest Nephrology L.L.C. especially, Lori.
