HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. James "Lum" D. Edwards, 78, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Homer on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. R. B. Moore, officiating. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home for 1:00 p.m., an hour before the services.
Mr. Edwards was born December 10, 1936 in Springhill, LA to Charlie and Treabie Wallace Edwards. He entered into rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in Homer, LA. Mr. Edwards served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a loyal friend and loved to play dominoes. Mr. Edwards was a hard worker and was employed with KLX Energy Services where he worked in the oilfield industry in sales. He was a devoted grandfather to his four granddaughters.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, as well as, seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joyce Watson Edwards; a daughter, Toni Hays and husband, Kimbell; four granddaughters, Haley Barrios, Emily Barrios, Tatum Hays and Claire Hays all of Homer, LA; a sister, Kathryn Cox of Springhill, LA; two brothers, Billy Edwards and wife Diane of Sarpeta, LA and Wayne Edwards of Vivian, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jerry Bailey, Marty Ray, Dude Davenport, Ken McClung, Doug Sanders and Paul Hight.
