James Robert Fox, II, known to everyone as "Fox," was born on August 14, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Robert William and Florence Fox. His family affectionately referred to him as "Jimmy" or "Jimmy Bert." He was 76 at the time of his death and was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana.
James graduated from Fair Park High School in 1960, where he was a member of the ROTC. He was also active in Queensborough Baptist Church. Shortly after his graduation, James met Charlotte. She was 16. Their first date was on June 26, 1960 and James proposed on bended knee a beautiful sweetheart diamond in hand in November. Inseparable since their first date, they eloped on February 2, 1961 and the rest is history.
James was the owner of Fox Telecommunications, Inc. in Shreveport, Louisiana. In addition, James was an ordained minister with His Hands Extended Ministries for over 30 years. He and Charlotte (also ordained) enjoyed decades of traveling for ministry. James loved the Lord and was particularly interested in Bible prophecy. James was a member of Church on the Rock, where he loved to minister and encourage others. James also enjoyed sports, coaching, singing, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren. If unable to attend a sporting event or activity, it was well known he would be up late awaiting a report from the grandkids. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time outside in the yard accompanied by his Great Dane, Scooby Doo. A second shadow, Scooby was his buddy.
Minister, entrepreneur, carpenter, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather - In every role he filled, he embodied the epitome of selflessness and grit. He loved to joke that he was a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none, but he was never outworked and remained unparalleled in generosity. He truly was a master in loving and serving others. His legacy continues in the example, strong and unwavering, that he set for all who came to know him.
James is preceded in death by his daughter Olivia Ann, and his parents, Robert and Florence Fox. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Boston Fox and his four children: Dan Boston, Sr. and wife Laurie, Nancy and husband Marc Reiter, Nobia and husband Jonathan Logan, and James R. Fox, III; His 10 grandchildren: Ashley Boston, Dan Boston, Jr., William Boston and wife Katie, Riden Reiter, Nathan Reiter, Nobia Logan, Marc Reiter, Jr., Meagan Reiter, Reagan Reiter, and Jonathan Logan, Jr.; His two great-grandchildren: Brennan Boston and Beckett Boston; and his two siblings: Linda Susann Dorman and Tommy G. Fox.
