Kenneth Fryar went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Minden, LA. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Minden First Baptist Church West Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Wayne Dubose officiating, assisted by Rev. Leland Crawford. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel. Interment will follow at Minden Cemetery in Minden, LA under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, LA.
Ken was born November 10, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas to Lois Ervin Fryar and James Harvey Fryar. His parents preceded him in death. He grew up in Clarksville, Red River County, Texas on the Old Fryar Place. He had been a resident of Minden, LA since 1967 where he met and married the love of his life, Gloria Hamil Fryar. He was a retired letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service. Ken had a great sense of humor and made friends from all walks of life. He believed in living one day at a time but living life to the fullest.
Ken was an active member of Minden First Baptist Church where he served on several committees throughout the years. He was 32nd degree Mason, Minden Lodge No. 51, Scottish Rite, an El Karubah Shriner, charter member of Northwest Shrine Club, and member of Chapter No. 53 Order of Eastern Star. Ken and Gloria are former members of the USA Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association, Amigos, Cross Lake Dance Club, and other ballroom organizations around the Ark-La-Tex.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Hamil Fryar, and his extended family of friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Allison, Jack Montgomery, Mike Covington, Scott McCalister, Mark Hedges, Mike Cole, Daniel Huff, Robert McKillips, and Harry Murphey.
Honorary pallbearers are Leslie Spigener, Laddie Ulmer, Don Sawyer, Rev. Bill Crider, and the We Care Class of First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103, or donor’s choice.
