James William "Buddy" Goodman

A Funeral service celebrating the life of James William “Buddy” Goodman, 79, will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, March 10, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 943 Polk St. Mansfield, Louisiana with Bro. Michael McConnaughey and Bro. Brent Crosswhite officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time Monday, March 10, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Buddy was born on September 14, 1945, in Benson, Louisiana to James Presley Goodman and Hannah Drucilla Webb and passed away March 6, 2025, in Grand Cane, Louisiana.

Buddy was preceded in death by parents, James “JP” and Drucilla Goodman; wife, Bonnie Gallaspy Goodman; brothers, Huey Goodman and Ellis Clyde Goodman.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rhonda Goodman Craig and husband Jerry of Nacogdoches, TX; granddaughters, Mari Lynn Simien and husband Marcus of Sulfur, LA, Amanda Machelle Sherman of Nacogdoches, TX, and Brandi Leanne Craig of Nacogdoches, TX; great grandchildren, Keelan, Tucker, and Kinley Simien, and Greyson Carrillo.

Buddy was a quiet and wise man. He was patient, gentle, kind, and loved his dog, Sassy. He was a man of unwavering faith and dedication, a true testament to the power of perseverance. Buddy cherished family time, reading his Bible, and found solace and strength in his deep faith in God.

Honoring Buddy as pallbearers will be Shane Goodman, Steve Estes, David Weber, Benjamin Baldwin, Tyson Baldwin, and Glynn Poole.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Greyson Carrillo, Keelan Simien, Tucker Simien, Delma Lynn Carter, and Ronald Phillips.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of DeSoto Regional Medical Center, Dr. David Abdehou, and Nightingale Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Pentecostal Church of Mansfield.
