Funeral services for Mr. James G. Patton, 93, will be held May 31, 2023 at 10 A.M. at Rose-Neath Southside in Shreveport, La. with Bro. Roger Morton officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Southside on May 30, 2023 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M.
James Guy Patton was born July 3, 1929 and passed away May 25, 2023. James was a loving husband, father, and papaw. He was always bush-hogging, mowing grass, lending a helping hand, or showing cars. He loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Virgie M. Patton; his second wife of 14 years, Gwen Patton; parents; Willie and Velma Patton; siblings; Warner, Edward, Eloise, Verna Lou, Marjorie, Eunice, Virginia, Dyann, and Billy Joe; great-grandson, Dalton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Roger Sr. and wife Lynette; grandchildren, Stacy and husband Wes, Roger Jr. and wife Angel, Jeffrey and wife Lauren; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh and husband Lee, Austin and wife Laura, Logan, Bailey and husband Cole, Jace, Brody, Nik, Brilynne, Eli, Livvy, and Connor; great-great grandchildren, Xander, Adaline, and Blakey; siblings Deloris, Shirley and husband Ben, and Avis; along with numerous other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Brody Patton, Austin Patton, Chad Patton, Jody Patton, Logan Brown, Nik Shoalmire, Bill Waller, and Jace Shoalmire. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Loftin, Billy Patton and Tony White.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for their love, care, and compassion during these difficult times. We would also like to thank the many friends and family that stopped by, called, text and prayed for us.
