On August 26th, 2015 I stopped complainig about the Astros and went to be with the Lord. I was born November 1st, 1934 in Shreveport to Jim and Mary Hammack. I was raised in Greenwood, La., and graduated high school there. After that I attended LSU then served in the U.S. Army 2nd Armorored Division "Hell On Wheels". After having mastered the art of potato peeling I was honorably discharged and set about a career in the oil fields.I did pretty well and became the VP of North American Sales for Weatherford Oil Tool and later the owner of Hammack Oil Tool in Houston. You know they say "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away", well so does the oil patch. I made a fortune and lost it all, but I always had family, faith in God and a work ethic to get me through it all. Over the years I\'ve been shot, had fingers cut off, broke my back when a rig collapsed and had to go back to being a Roughneck when I was 60 years old just to pay the bills. But I had fun too. I travelled and lived a good life providing for my family. They were my purpose in life. It\'s been a heckuva ride.
Now on to everyone else. I\'m survived by a long list of loved ones.
Sister Annie Valentine and husband Darrell of Jena, La. Sister Elaine "The Kid" Kelly and husband Billy Ray of Manvel, Tx. Somehow miraculously survived by son Jimmy "Jimbo" Hammack and wife Billie of Gladewater, Tx. Son Jamie "Hoot" Hammack of Bossier City, La.Daughter Janice "Chump" Hitt of Logansport, La., and one old dog named Rex The Wonder Dog.I\'m going to include my ex wife Ritha Guillotte of Bossier City, who spent nearly every day of the last seven months with me in the hospital. She was the love of my life.
