James Ray Herring

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral Services for James Ray Herring, 72, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Creek Cemetery in Boyce, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy Allen. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. James was born May 1, 1945, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Joseph J. Herring and Dimple Jane Lee Herring and passed away May 3, 2017. James was an avid fisherman and loved his pets. He was a man of faith and loved his church, Lighthouse Baptist Church. James was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dimple Herring and his wife, Melba Herring. He is survived by his son, Jason Herring and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Kim Fleitz and husband, Derek; grandchildren, Evelyn Herring, Gabriella Fleitz and Zoe Fleitz; brothers, Dewey Herring and wife, Sylvia, and Joe Herring and wife, Jeannie; special friend, Penny McCormick: along with numerous extended family and friends.
