A mass of Christian Burial for James Ray (Cain) Hesser, age 74, will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rambin, Louisiana. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church in Rambin.
James Ray was born on January 22, 1947, in Pelican, Louisiana. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Green Meadow Haven Nursing Facility in Coushatta following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sarah Hesser; his children, Lisa, Amy, Stacy, Tracy, and Todd; the mother of his children, Betty Hesser; his sister, Dorothy Hesser Kavanaugh; his brother, Felix Anthony Hesser; stepchildren, Sheila and Eric Cheatwood; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Helen Hesser; his sister, Lillie Mae Hesser LeGrand; his brothers, Joseph B. Hesser, Robert L. Hesser, Bobby Joe Hesser; and stepson, Roy Glen Cheatwood.
James was a graduate of Pelican High School. He loved to dance and enjoyed gardening until his health declined.
Honoring James as pallbearers will be Eric Cheatwood, Dylan Cheatwood, Thomas Cheatwood, Brian Hesser, Alex Hesser, and Kobe Dunn.
