BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for James Barron "Spike" Isgate, 69, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be lifelong friend, Gary Salter and Bro. Tommy Patton. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Spike was born July 28, 1944 in Pleasant Hill, La to James and Kathleen Isgate and died on June 29, 2014 in Bossier City. He was a draftsman at International Paper for 35 years. He loved his wife, daughters and grandchildren, as well as fishing and hunting with his buddies in the Rut-N-Buck Hunting Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents and great niece, Katy Watkins.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeanelle Shavers Isgate; daughters, Laurie Isgate Kennady and husband, Richard and Jamie Isgate Sanford all of Bossier City; beloved grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Kennady, Hannah Grace Kennady, Emma Claire Sanford and Hunter Barron Sanford; Sister, Myla Whittington and husband, Jon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Spike as pallbearers will be Richard Shoalmire, Richard Kennady, Christopher Kennady, Jason Dolan, Steve Watkins, Andy Watkins, Malcolm Clark, and Matthew Blocker. Honorary pallbearer will be Hunter Sanford.
The family would like to thank Christus Schumpert Hospice and all of their staff, especially his niece, Robyn Watkins, RN. The family also would like to thank Dr. Gerry San Pedro and Dr. Travis Phifer for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Cypress Baptist Church Building Fund, Benton, LA.
