JAMES MADISON LEWIS   SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of James Lewis, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Rose- Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Hutzler and Rev. John Harp. Interment will be in Redwater Cemetery in Redwater, TX, at 4:30 p.m. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. James was born on July 28, 1936 in Redwater, TX to William and Eva Bell Lewis and passed away on April 21, 2016. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Shangri- LA. After serving his country he went into business for himself as the owner of Lewis Auto Parts, where he devoted his time for 40 years. He was a faithful deacon of Brookwood Baptist Church. He had a great passion for evangelism and personal soul-winning. He never missed a chance to witness to people so he could bring them to the Lord. James also loved fishing. James is preceded in death by his parents, and numerous brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, LaJuan McDougal Lewis; daughter, Rebecca Lewis Davis and husband Ronnie; 3 grandchildren, Corey Davis, Tristan Davis, Kylie Davis; 1 great-grandchild, Kaylyn, and a host of family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
