Coushatta, LA Services for James Edward McCrory,78, of Fairview Alpha community was Sunday, November 30, 2014, at 2 P.M., in Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel with Rev. Olan McLaren officiating. Interment followed at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in the Fairview Alpha community. Visitation was held Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 6 - 8 P.M., at the funeral home. James was born on August 16, 1936, in Natchitoches, LA and went to be with his Lord on November 26, 2014, in Natchitoches, LA. James was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue McCrory; his parents, Emmett and Ruth McCrory; granddaughter, Jamison McBride; daughter, Sherry Lynn Brevelle; two brothers and one sister. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Rebecca Pullig and husband, Bobby of Martin, LA, Ginger Giddings and husband, Johnny of Fairview Alpha, LA, James Michael McCrory and wife, Melanie of Quitman, LA, Kimberly Vanderholf and husband, Rob of Fairview Alpha, LA, Johnna Christy and husband, Derrick of Orange, TX and Melissa McCrory of Orange, TX; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Zumwalt of Fairview Alpha, LA; special friend, Anna Slaten and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. James served his country for 15 months in the National Guard to finish high school. He then joined the U. S. Air Force as Military Police for 4 years. He was a business owner and served on the police jury of Natchitoches Parish. He loved to hunt and fish but spending time on the water gave him the most hours of great joy. Honoring James as pallbearers were Johnny Ray Giddings, Robert Giddings, Larry Gene Cole, Derrick Christy, Austin McCrory, and Kevin Bynog. Honorary pallbearers were Nate McBride and Max McCrory.
