Graveside services for James H. McNeil, Jr. will be held Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, LA under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Rev. Fred Wideman will officiate.
James was born November 20, 1924 in Minden, Louisiana and his home-going was March 24, 2020 in Minden, Louisiana. He was a World War II Naval Veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church of Minden, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary John Thompson McNeil, daughter Pamela M. Martin, mother Beatrice Griffin McNeil and father James H. McNeil, Sr, brother Robert McNeil and second wife Stella Allen Stevens McNeil.
He is survived by his son James H. McNeil, III and wife Nancy of Marlow, OK, daughter, Susan Sexton and Randy of Shongaloo, LA, grandchildren Holli McNeil of Marlow, OK, Jim Helms and wife Courtney of Martinsburg, WV, Rodger Sexton, II and wife Shona of Lantana, TX, Shelly Martin Morrison and husband Rick of Guatier, MS, Taryn Martin Moore and husband Ron of Jacksonville, FL, great-grandchildren Kaylen Fincher, Shane McNeil, Macy McNeil of Marlow, OK, Rebecca Welch and husband Brian of Luke AFB, AZ, Ryan Helms of Martinsburg, WV, Tyler Martin of Gautier, MS, A.G. Sexton of League City, TX, Tanner and Trey Sexton of Lantana, TX, great-great-grandson Kyler Helms of Luke AFB, AZ, step-daughters Betty Brown and husband Bill of Minden, LA and Doris Short of Colorado.
