James D Mickunas

A funeral mass honoring the life of James Denis Mickunas 77, of Many, LA will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle, LA. Father Timothy Hurd will officiate. Interment with full military honors will be at 3:00pm in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, TX. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 and Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 9am-9pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. A rosary and vigil service will be held on Thursday at 6:30pm. James was born on December 11, 1937 in Southview, PA. He entered into eternal rest on August 30, 2015 at his residence in Many, LA. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from which he retired after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Susan Slebodnick Mickunas; wife Catherine Mickunas, and brother Jerome Mickunas. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Michele Ruthemeyer and husband Timothy of Bowie, MD; 2 grandchildren; sister Joann Crawford Canton, OH; brother Joseph Mickunas of Akron, OH; and a host of friends.
