James "Jim" Thomas Saintignan, Sr.

GREENWOOD, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of James "Jim" Thomas Saintignan, Sr., 74, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday October 12, 2015 at New Life Tabernacle Church, 4445 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Eugene McBride and Ed Cooper. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Jim was born January 20, 1941 in Shreveport, LA to Roy and Mary Ruth Lord Saintignan and passed away on October 7, 2015. Jim proudly served his country in the US Navy. He met and married the love of his life, Jean Shuffield and together they raised two children. Jim lived life to the fullest and made the most of every day. He never hesitated to reach out to help those less fortunate. He worked with the homeless for numerous years, Mike Barber prison ministry, rode with the Christian Motorcycle Association and the H.O.G.S. Jim was also active in the Lions Club in Greenwood, LA and on the Greenwood Town Council. Jim was an artist, loved wood working and he loved America. Jim had a 25 year career with Justin Boots as a sales rep and was honored as a member of Justin's Presidents Club. The most important achievement in his life was his faith in God and the love he had for his family. He will be truly missed. Those left to cherish Jim's memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Jean; daughter, Angie Frake; son, Jim Saintignan, Jr. and wife, Tina; grandchildren, G.W. Frake, Larry Frake, Tiffany Frake, Angel Frake, Kurt Wiley, Hallie Saintignan, and Stone Saintignan; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosalee Saintignan Tindall, and Laura Sanders; brothers, William Woods, Jimmy Carroll, John McKenney, and James Casteel, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be Ken Carter, Rick Braud, Preston Roberts, Jeff Pugh, Frank Van Alstyne, Gary Sullivan, Bert Louthan, and Gene Seely. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to New Life Tabernacle Church, 4445 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, LA 71109.
