A funeral service for James Robert Brown, 47, will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Heights Baptist Church, 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Scott Teutsch.
Jimmy started his public service career at Caddo Fire District #1 at 15 as the first Junior Fire Fighter. At 18, he was hired full-time and received his EMT certification. Later, he worked for Balentine and received his paramedic certification. For the last 14 years, he has been with Bossier Parish EMS. In between, he served in some way for East 80, South Bossier District #2, and the Benton Fire Department.
Jimmy married the love of his life, Naomi, at the young age of 18. They have four beautiful children and two amazing grandsons. Jimmy’s life revolved around his family and meeting their needs before his own.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Brown; maternal grandparents, Osler and Elizabeth Carter; and paternal grandparents, Curtis and Hazel Brown. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Naomi, who stood by his side through every chapter of life with unwavering support, compassion, and strength; daughters, Taylor Brown, Ainsley Blankenship, and husband, Ty David, and Isabella Brown; son, Landen Brown; grandsons, Asher and Oliver Blankenship; parents, Danny and Ouida Salter; brother, Daniel Salter and wife, Emily; nephews, Wyatt and Weston Salter and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Cooper, Danny Burney, Whit Stafford, Ruben Hatcher, Parker Atwood, Jared Davis, Kendal White, and John Craft. All beloved chosen family who stood by Jimmy in life, and now accompany him on his final journey. Their presence is a testament to the love and respect Jimmy inspired in those around him. Honorary pallbearers will be the Caddo Fire District #1, Bossier Parish EMS, Balentine, Benton Fire, East 80, and South Bossier District #2.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Joseph Jones, Nurse Tabitha, Nurse Jane, Mrs. Donna with Home Health, Dr. McDonald and staff, Dr. Davidson, and Nurse Kendra.
