James Edward Roop

Visitation for James Edward Roop, 86, will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, OK. Interment will follow in Heavener Memorial Park. James was born November 14, 1931 in Heavener, OK to John and Bridgie Roop and departed to be with his Lord on February 6, 2018 in Shreveport. He was a longtime employee and retired from Sweetheart Cup Company. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean Roop, and four brothers. Left to cherish his memory are his children, David Roop of Natchitoches, LA, Danny Roop and wife Annie of Keatchie, LA, and Donna Roop Kuperman and husband Barry of Haughton, LA; grandchildren, Heather Luoma, Ashley Bynog, Daniel Roop, Kyle Roop, Karah Roop Fulghum, Bryan Boughton, and Eric Boughton; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Overton Brooks VA and Thompson Home Health for their care.
