Memorial Services were held for James “Jimmy” Zachary, age 69, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5^th Street, Homer, LA, on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Paul Smeltzer, officiated. Visitation was at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service.

Jimmy was born April 26, 1953, in Minden, LA, to Marie Walker and G.W. Zachary, Sr. He was the youngest of four boys and had to get tough quick. NaNa and Mamaw would take all the boys fishing every chance they got. Jimmy was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing and deer hunting. He also loved music and played guitar in a band he had with his friends as a teenager. Jimmy also loved spearfishing, water skiing and riding motorcycles. He loved his family, friends and his dogs! He will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Walker Zachary.

He is survived by his two brothers, G.W. Zachary, Jr., and wife Betty of Homer, LA, and John K. Zachary and wife Joanne of Benton, AR; nephew, Roger Zachary and fiancé  Lisa Freeman; three nieces, Ann Marie Zachary Humphrey and husband Les of Dubberly, LA, Julie Zachary Parsons and husband Mike of Benton, AR, Jena Kay Zachary Pittman and husband Chris of Benton, AR; ten great-nieces and nephews, Zachary Willis, McKenzie Lee Zachary, Jarrett Tuggle Zachary, Tori Parsons Stebbins and husband Ashton, Jonathan Parsons, Jordan Parsons, Blake Matyja, Ty Matyja, Bryson Matyja, and Logan Pittman; The Bubbas, “Sweetie Pie” and “JoJo”; and numerous other relatives and many friends.

Jimmy’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to his life-long friend Curtis Nelson, wife Tana and family of Valhalla.

In lieu of flowers honoring Jimmy, his family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or charity of your choice.
