Jan Milner

Jan Milner, 79, won her battle with cancer on Monday, December 9, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1945 in Waco, Texas, to Ben and Jackie Keeton, who both preceded her in everlasting life. Her four-legged children, Trouble, Rudy, and Deuce also preceded her. 

Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband of thirty years, Eric Holman; her daughter, Cara Houston (Randy); grandsons, John Houston (Makayla) and Lawrence Houston (Heather); granddaughter, Anna Miller (Austin); her brother, Michael Keeton (Lynn); sister, Lise' Cummings (Jim); sister-in-law, Lynn Holman-Moffitt, and nieces and nephews, Connor, Seth, Merideth, Laura Catherine, Drew, Noah, and Noelle. She is also survived by countless friends. 

Jan developed her expert salesmanship at the age of five, when she scratched out the names on used Christmas cards and peddled them door-to-door in her neighborhood. She later served as a secretary to several Shreveport lawyers. Jan was an avid gardener, and her thumb was so green that she merely had to touch a plant and it thrived. She was a "card carrying Methodist," who loved to fish, often catching them without any bait on the hook. Jan was a tiny spitfire who lived life at full speed, and she could light up a room just by flashing her dimpled smile. She had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. The world is a little less radiant without her in it, but the heavens shine brighter. 

Friends and family wish to acknowledge the devoted staff at Willis Knighton Cancer Center and Gentiva Hospice who exceeded the bar in caregiving. They also extend their deepest gratitude to their Broadmoor United Methodist Church family for all the prayers, cards, visits, and phone calls. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. 

 Memorials are welcomed at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, St. Jude's Children's Research or the Shriner's Hospitals.
