Funeral services for Jane LeMay Lindsey, 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel with Bro. Dennis Aaron officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Jane was born October 12, 1932 in Heflin La to B.M. and Janie LeMay and passed away on April 12, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. She retired from the Caddo Parish School Board after a long career as a bus driver. She also worked as a notary public.
Jane was a total people-person and never let anyone leave without first praying for them. She was one of those mothers who worked two jobs for decades to provide for her children. She left home at 7:00 a.m. and finished work at 9:00 p.m. for years. Even though she worked long hours, she made sure that her children were in church every time the doors were open. She was a longtime member of Life Tabernacle.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Durwood Lindsey; and grandson, Jeremy Boyd. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Connie Deeds and husband Sammy; son, Jeff Boyd; grandchildren, Shea Deeds, Trey Deeds and wife Eva, Jeffrey Boyd, and Jacie Wilson and husband Tim; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Buck LeMay and wife Janet and family.
Honoring Jane as pallbearers will be Jeff Boyd, Jeffrey Boyd, Sammy Deeds, Trey Deeds, Brock Restavich, and Allen Quija.
The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Joseph's Hospice.
