Jerry was born on August 10, 1937 to Jerry Lawson Mason and Nola Fretwell Mason in Doyline, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Shreveport in her home in the loving embrace of her daughter and surrounded by the pets she loved so dearly. Jerry graduated from Doyline High School. After graduation, Jerry married J.L. Madere. From this marriage were born her three children which were the loves of her life. As always in "Jerry" style, she raised three children, while quickly climbing the corporate ladder at AT&T where she retired from after many years of service. Her life as a working mother was further enhanced by being the hostess with the mostest and paying special attention to detail for everyone around. She was an amazing cook, loved to fish, and known to love a good time. She particularly loved to travel with William. Jerry is preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard (Ricky) Louis Madere; beloved grandson, Richard Madere; loving husbands, J.L. Madere, father of her three children, Jim McCarty, William Slack, and Revis Edmonds. She particularly loved to travel with William. Their adventures were grand! Then in the later years, she was blessed to have Revis in her life. He was always the voice of comfort and calm and true love. She is survived by her loving daughters, Robin Cascio of Shreveport, Louisiana and Roxanne Madere Gilleland and husband, Ned of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, her grandchildren, Tamara Crane, Trey King and wife, Sarah, Chenoa Hakun and husband, Jonathan, Angela Cascio, and Ned Gilleland, III, Nicole Gooch and husband, Chris, Elisabeth Pagan and husband, Matt, Mary and Vivian Edmonds; and six great-grandchildren she adored; stepsons, Revis Edmonds and wife, Nena, and Roger Edmonds and wife, Betsy.
