Jane Brooks Plitt

SHREVEPORT, LA- Services celebrating the life of Jane Brooks Plitt, 87, will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Rowena White. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Jane was born December 11, 1926 to William and Isabell Brooks in Mooringsport, LA, and passed away on June 27, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She loved needlepoint, tennis, reading good books and was a master at raising three boys. When she lived in Monroe, LA, she helped Grace Episcopal Church teaching Sunday school. To all that knew her Jane will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack E. Brooks, William Brooks, sisters, Clara E. Abbott, Ann B. Brown. Jane is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred H. Plitt; sons, Fred H. Plitt, Jr. and wife, Teresa, Louis E. Plitt and wife, Cynthia, and Jack E. Plitt and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Justin and Becky Parish, Isabella and Dalton Plitt, Silver S. Smith, Ryan Plitt. Honoring Jane as pallbearers will be Andy Andrews, Tim Davidson, Bobby Jelks, Jack W. LaBorde, Bill Murphy and Carl Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kip Anderson, Phil Anderson, Herchel M.
