JANET WHITT TIMMONS   LOGANSPORT, LA -Funeral services for Ms. Janet Whitt Timmons, 77, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy McMellon. Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Janet was born on November 29, 1938 in Pocahontas, Virginia to Ellis Robert, Sr. and Florence Osborn Whitt and passed away on April 21, 2016. She graduated Class of 1956, Fair Park High School. Janet was member of the First United Methodist church. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Stars. Preceding Janet in death were her parents, and brother, Ellis R. Whitt Jr., and grandchild, Kari Powell. She is survived by her sister, Jean Miguez; loving son, Gary Wayne Timmons and wife Tammy; daughter, Valerie Powell and husband Ray; daughter, Cynthia Hendrickson Angelle and Keith; grandchildren, Kristopher Powell, Kristin Beard and husband Coreyel, Krystal Land and husband Jeremy, Mary Brown and husband Jon, Tyler Timmons, Brooke Timmons, Brittany Hendrickson, Brannon Lormand, Camille Angelle, Erin Angelle, Brook Guidry; and many great grandchildren. Honoring Janet as pallbearers will be Brannon Lormand, Kristopher Powell, Tyler Timmons, Don Vocinovich, Jeff Whitt, and Eugene Timmons. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Hendrickson, Robert Gurley, and Porter Dowling. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Live Oak Nursing Home, for all the care, support and compassion they gave during Janet's stay. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude's.
