Janie Ellen Hood

Funeral services for Janie Jenkins Hood, 74, will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 
 
 Janie was born on February 18, 1949 in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Ernest and Ethel Jenkins and passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
 
 Janie was a resident of Bossier City and worked as a hairdresser and a Blackjack Dealer for Diamond Jacks. She loved country music, fishing, car racing and alligator hunting.
 
 Janie is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ethel Jenkins; husband, James Hood; brothers, Ernest Jenkins, Dallas Jenkins, Ken Jenkins and Roy Jenkins; sister, Catherine Joseph; special niece, Barbara Dubois; and special friend, Freddie Hernandez. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Linda Walker, and Yvonne Prophet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
 Honoring Janie was pallbearers will be Jake Sites, Tracey Stovall, Ray Dubois, Terry Jenkins, Jacob Sites, and Nick Hill.
 
 Janie will be dearly missed but the family will forever love and cherish her memory.
