Janie L. Redding

Funeral services for Janie Redding, 75, will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to until time of service. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Randy Goudeau.

Janie was born on December 12, 1947 to James Fred Corpier and Clara Elizabeth Corpier in Wattenson, Arkansas and passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Stonewall, Louisiana.

Janie was a resident of Stonewall. She loved children in general but really loved and adored her own grandchildren. She did not know how to say no to people. Today she said No!!

Janie is preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara Corpier; husband, Donald Gene Redding; and sister, Mary Corpier Sandifer. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Sonny Redding (Theresa), Michael Redding (Melissa); daughter, Tammie Miller (Mark); grandsons, Zachery Stephens, Tony Redding, and Will Redding (Summer); granddaughter, Heather Powers (Kasey); great-grandsons, Breaux Redding and Brad Lee Redding; great-granddaughters, Makinse Powers and Lynlee Powers; sisters, Lucille Ethridge, Irma McDuff and Julia Cloud.

Honoring Janie as pallbearers will be Kasey Powers, Paul Robertson, Mark Miller, Ron Ledger, Charles Baker and Mark Schellette.

The family would like to express special thanks to Pam Avery with Bristol Hospice for the care and compassion given to Janie during her illness.
