Jarod Laing

Jarod Alexander Laing VIVIAN, LA- Services celebrating the life of Jarod Alexander Laing will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Barry Carter of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Jarod was born on September 8, 1983 in Shreveport, LA. He was employed with Genesis Energy. Jarod had a passion for guns, outdoors, boating, and living life to the fullest and most of all his family. Jarod was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Felix G. and Frances G. Porta, father-in-law, Jeffrey L. Smith, and step-mother, Jeanne Lowery Laing. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Reanna Nichole Smith Laing; father, Michael O. Laing; mother, Susan Porta Andrade and husband Israel; grandparents, Buddy and Barbara Laing; son, Ethan Kale Laing; daughter, Aren Kaylee Laing; sister, Michelle Laing; brother, Jared Lotto. Jarod is also survived by his aunt, Tracey Laing; uncle, Tommy Laing; and cousins, Leon and wife Heather Laing, Steven Johnson, sister-in-law, Danielle McLendon and husband Greg, and a host of many nieces and nephews that he loved so much and they too loved him and also numerous friends, all of whom loved Jarod. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Bro. Barry Carter for his services for God and his families in the community. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
