Jason Carl Grubb, servant of his God and country, and devoted father of Porter, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services for Jason will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church, 900 Jordan Street, Shreveport, Louisiana with Rev. Dr. Chris Currie and Rev. Alexandra Pappas officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City.
Jason was born on March 12, 1988 in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a child, he spent many happy summers with his parents and grandparents in Petoskey, Michigan and Juno Beach, Florida. After graduation from high school, he joined the Louisiana National Guard where he served proudly for eight years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Nabors Industries as a pressure control technician. Jason had a gift for making many close friends including those with whom he served in the Louisiana National Guard and those with whom he worked at Nabors. The love of his life was his son, Porter. When he was not working, he and Porter were inseparable, often going to zoos and aquariums near and far, fishing, and playing in the back yard. Jason loved fishing with his son and dad, including a recent special trip to South Texas.
Jason is survived by his son, Porter Rhett Grubb; his parents, Charles and Maureen Grubb of Benton, LA; sisters, Jennifer Farmer and husband, Richard of Elysian Fields, TX and Julia Grubb Dickerson and husband, Jeff of Shreveport, LA; nieces and nephews, Caden and Adelyn Farmer and Lillian Dickerson; and many cousins including special cousin, Lisa Massingill and husband, Bob of Jonesville, TX.
Honoring Jason as pallbearers will be TerRance Allen, Justin Arnold, Chase Burnett, Jordan Elliott, Jeremy Elliott, Phillip Grisham, Foster Rougely, Jr., and Danny Stutzman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials maybe made to the charity of the donor's choice.
