Jay Carroll Meredith

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Jay Carroll Meredith, 56, will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Trinity Heights Baptist Church, 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd., Shreveport, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 12 noon until service time. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Oakley Cemetery in Gilbert, LA. Jay was born November 18, 1958 in Fort Worth, TX and passed away May 4, 2015, in Shreveport, LA. Jay was very active in and passionate about his church, community and his career. He was President of the North Highlands Neighborhood Association; he served on the Board of Directors for Shreveport Crime Stoppers; and for 28 years he worked for C.F. Biggs, Co. as a hardworking and dependable, Senior Sales Rep., who earned Salesman of the Year for many years and was never too busy to help a new employee. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He will be dearly missed by his beloved four legged friend, Shylah, who followed him around like a shadow. He is preceded in death by his father, James Newson Meredith; brother, James Newson Meredith, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Willie and Neoma Arnold; paternal grandparents, Carroll and Alma Meredith. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Meredith; mother, Mary Helen Meredith; sons, Patrick "Ryan" Meredith and Cory James Meredith, brothers, William Joe Meredith, John Edward Meredith and wife, Sheryl, and Jeff Wyatt Meredith and wife, Gabby; in laws, Henry and Charlotte Odom, Jr.; sister in laws, Brenda Ebey and Denise Odom; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Mark Hutchinson, Cecil Marr, Pat Rambin, Claude Baines, Andy Watson, and Karl Meredith. Honorary Pallbearers are Mitchell Vines and Larry Johnson.
