The life of Jeane Davis Parnell, 85, ended on August 9, 2017. Jeane was celebrated with a private family memorial August 12, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
Jeane was born August 21, 1931 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the youngest child of James V and Ruth Pickard Davis, a pioneering couple who traveled from Lead Hill, Arkansas across the Oklahoma border in a covered wagon.
Jeane was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, John and Mary Davis and Henry and Sarah Pickard, siblings Beatrice, Lloyd, Lotus, Zelma, May Beth, and Fern. Her last surviving sibling is older brother, Edsel Davis.
Jeane is survived by her husband of 68 years, James A. Parnell, daughter Sheri Parnell Davidson & Randy, son John David Parnell & Judy, grandchildren Christina Hart, Megen Manson & Troy, John D. Parnell Jr. and Francine, Alix Davidson, Kristopher Parnell & Julie. She leaves great grandchildren Ashley Fowler & Tony, Kevin Hart, Dylan Parnell, Elijah Parnell, Rowan Davidson, Wyatt Manson, Adler (Addie) Manson, Quinn Manson, and great-great grandchildren Tripp Fowler and Kaden Fowler. Jeane leaves DeeDee Brooks as another sister, daughter, but, most of all, great longtime friend.
Jeane will be remembered as the youngest and most beautiful Mother on the block and as the Grandmother with the big, fast Lincoln. Great grandmother remembered just as "Ma", funny, not without opinions, but always ready for a hug, no matter how frail and fragile. Remembered by friends, employees, and customers of Service Tire, Inc. as "Miss P". All are left without enough time to know that Oklahoma girl chased by a prairie fire she started, and carrying an Oklahoma boy along for the ride. We will always regret her going and have gratitude that there can be peace without pain.
The family expresses great thanks and indescribable gratitude to Dr. P.V. Blanchard and, great therapist and friend, Kate Patty.
