Jeanette was a feisty, strong-willed woman who loved with all her heart. She would fight anyone for her children or grandchildren, but also knew they weren't perfect. When needed, she was quick to discipline any of them, always with a stern look and unconditional love. She always showed up to lend a helping hand, no matter the task. She was a lover of eagles, owls, oil lamps and hummingbirds. Some of her Mawnie-isms were "Cuter 'n a gnats naval", "I love you a bushel and a peck", "I love you big, like a little pig", "Make good choices", "Love you bunches", "Hello...", "Bless her heart", and many more. She required a Dr. Pepper or an Unsweet Tea, with sweet n low and extra lemon, at every meal. And please do not forget the extra lemon! When she wasn't attending a ballgame or an event for her grandchildren or great-grands, she spent most of her time tending to her house, her yard, and her high school sweetheart, Carlos. Family was her greatest joy. Above all things, she was a follower of Jesus Christ, and we know she is Home celebrating! To God Be the Glory!
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Vena Causey; brother, Jackie Leslie Causey; and nephew, Shane Willis.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Carlos Gipson; children, Ron Gipson and wife, Kay of Blanchard, LA, and Shelly Walters and husband, Ronnie of Bethany, LA; grandchildren, Beaux Gipson and wife, Christian, Paige Gipson, Sami Smith and husband, Nick, and Ryder Walters and fiancée, Leilani Williams; great-grandchildren, Suede Gipson and Houston Smith; brothers, Hubert Causey (who joined her in heaven less than 24 hours later) and wife, Dian of Bossier City, LA, and Tony Causey and wife, Melanie of Tyler, TX; brother-in-law, Wayne Gipson and wife, Linda; sisters-in-law, Anna Bearden and husband, Ray and Donna Pennington and husband, Robert; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family would like to express our extreme gratitude to the doctors and nurses from the CCU at Willis-Knighton North. The love and care they gave our Mawnie will be forever cherished.
In memory of Jeanette, the family suggests donations be made to Lakeview Baptist Church.
