Jennie D. Vines

Jennie Dean (Dama) Vines, 94, peacefully entered eternal rest May 17, 2015. She was a resident at Colonial Oaks Nursing Home in Bossier City. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Graveside service will be at Forest Park Cemetery immediately following the service. Officiating will be Bro. Don Fletcher. Jennie was born August 17, 1920 in Taylor, Arkansas but raised in Shreveport/Bossier City area. She graduated from Bossier High School in 1938. She worked for many years at the S&H Green Stamp Store. Dama was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her life revolved around her family, who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Elma Bethany; her husband of 45 years, William Vines; late husband, W.A. Hopper; brother, Ben Bethany Jr.; and niece, Dana Duke. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Donald Hopper and wife, Mary; daughter, Jan Hopper Patterson Quin and husband, Jerry; sister, Anita Chesser; sister-in-law, Merna Bethany; grandsons, Kyle Patterson and wife, Colbie, Keith Patterson and wife, Erin; granddaughter, Cheri Hopper; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Conner, Bryton, Chandler, Kylie, Michael and Jesi; niece, Deborah Hendricks; nephew, Ken Bethany and all of her special friends and caregivers. We wish to express our sincere appreciation for the love and care given to our mother by the staff at Colonial Oaks Guest Care. A special thanks to Donna, her sweet nurse with Gamble Hospice Care. Her smile, her wit, and loving manner will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
