Shreveport, LA - Memorial services for Jerry R. Callens, 78, will be held 12 noon February 2, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Justin Haigler. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Jerry was born on September 12, 1936 and passed away on January 28, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who was never a stranger to anyone. He had a tremendous sense of humor loving to make people laugh. His jovial personality brought Jerry honor as salesman of the year numerous times at Red River Chevrolet during his years of employment. He loved sports, especially LSU football. His canine companions, J. R. and Little brought special joy to him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Martha Sue Callens; children, Tonya Callens Rabalais (his "little" girl) and joy to his life and special friend Chris Fulco. Tracy Guin and husband, Rodney, Jeffrey Callens and wife, Lisa, Sirmans Callens, Shawn Bankson and wife, Alana, Rick Bankson and wife, Deborah, and Mike Bankson and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Mallory Guin, Maggie Guin, Bailee Callens, Jacee Callens, Brady Callens, Ashley N. Roberson and husband, Craig, Aaron M. Bankson, Ashley M. Bankson, Tyler Bankson, and Chelbi Bankson; great-grandchildren, Noah Roberson, Christian Roberson, Sydney Roberson, MacKenzie Roberson, and numerous family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Bankson, Rick Bankson, Chris Fulco, Tommy Jones, Willie Woods, Perry Tumineelo, John Fulco, and Eddie Holman.
