Jesse L Calhoun, Jr.

Funeral services will be held for Jesse L. Calhoun, Jr., age 77, at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. Donald Nailes and Bro. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. The interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Jesse was born April 13, 1938, in Ruston, LA. He entered into rest on April 30, 2015, in Minden, LA. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Arcadia as well as a member of the Gideons International and a member of the Local Masonic Lodge. Jesse worked in the oil field in sales and services. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse L. Calhoun, Sr. and Effie L. Brown Calhoun. He is survived by his wife, Ivy Calhoun, sons; Dennis Calhoun and wife Susan, David Calhoun and wife Pam, Kenny Ray Calhoun, Stanley Calhoun and wife Linda and Scott Calhoun and wife Holly, sisters; Eva Crawford and husband Doug, Sybil Keyes and Barbara Smith and husband Jimmy, brothers; Roy Calhoun and wife Martha and Carol Gene Calhoun and wife Betsy, grandchildren; Jessica Clanton and husband Chris, Hanna Crider and husband Ryan, Cody Mathews and wife Rachel, Kaitlyn Calhoun, Elijah and Benjamin Calhoun, Tina Hager and husband Robby, Dylan Spain and Payton Calhoun, great-grandchildren; Lukas Lawshe, Warren Wade, Easton Hager, Zoey Crider and Hannah Crider, and by numerous other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Dickerson, Jerry Lane Simpson, Robert Reeder, Jonathon Nailes, Johnnie Ray Crooks and Bobby Joe King. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Mathews, Elijah and Benjamin Calhoun, Dylan Spain, Lukas Lawshe, Warren Wade, Easton Hager, Marvin Kirby, Jacob Rayborn, Joey McDonald and Mike Johnson.
