In Loving Memory of David Parnell

  Jessie (David) Parnell, age 79, entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2020 in Katy, Texas. David was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Jesse Oliver and Lois Cortense (Jacobs) Parnell. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan Faust Parnell; daughter, Patricia Ann Parnell; sons, Kenneth David Parnell, Richard Scott Parnell and wife Michelle, Joshua David Parnell, and Jonathan Paul Parnell; granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Parnell, and 12 other grandchildren, along with 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Ann Sistrunk and husband Pete. Preceding him in passing are his father, Jesse Oliver Parnell and mother, Lois Cortense (Jacobs) Parnell. David honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1958 until 1961. He went on to complete his Bachelor's Degree at Louisiana State University in 1965, and then earned his law degree from Jackson School of Law in 1969. He had a successful career in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum landman. He was an avid gun enthusiast and loved watching FOX News at an absurdly high volume. He enjoyed pestering his family about flu shots, and never met a pair of crazy socks he didn't like. His favorite pastimes were working crossword puzzles and cheering for his LSU Tigers during football season. His favorite time every year was spending it with family at the annual Campbell family reunion. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on Memorial Day Monday, May 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Jimmy Price officiating. Interment will be held at Sardis Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David's life. Honoring David as pallbearers will be Kenny Parnell, Rick Parnell, Josh Parnell, Jon Parnell, Steve Bergeron, and Paul Procell.
